Kaiser Manager’S Home Vandalized
A Kaiser Aluminum manager living in Post Falls reported Sunday about $2,000 worth of damage to his home, boats, a minivan and pickup.
Rodney Branum, 38, told Kootenai County sSheriff’s deputies that a neighbor who was pulling into a nearby driveway noticed the word “Scabs” spray painted on Branum’s home, boats and cars.
Branum, a manager at the Kaiser Trentwood plant, told deputies he and his family have received threats from protesters related to the strike. He told deputies he and a friend were assaulted at a local tavern.
Someone spray painted “Scab” and “Die Scab Die” on the vinyl siding of Branum’s home. Deputies also discovered “Scabs” and an arrow pointing to the house on Cloverleaf Road spray-painted on a Ford Aerostar van.
Windows were smashed on a 1973 pickup along with spray-painted words. Two boats also had been spray-painted with obscenities.
