Lowdown

Few teams can match Seattle’s first three options. Jackson is already fifth in franchise history in receptions. Robinson has had ups and downs in his three years, but few have more upside. Engram has made a habit of clutch catches, as evidenced by the 34-yarder late in the fourth quarter that helped Seahawks tie their playoff game against Green Bay. Bannister’s special teams work makes him a valuable commodity. Jerheme Urban, from Division III Trinity University, seems to catch everything thrown his way. Urban, who spent most of 2003 on the practice squad, is in the mix for fifth and/or sixth roster spots, if Seattle chooses to keep that many, with Wallace, Hackett and Willis, among others.

Fast fact

Fourteen receivers were drafted before Jackson in the 2000 draft and 19 were taken after he went in the third round. Not one of those receivers has more catches, yards and touchdowns than Jackson. The 2000 class included Laveranues Coles, Plaxico Burress, Peter Warrick.

Quote

“We had a few drops (last year) that hurt our reputation a little bit, but I thought our effort and everything else was good. We just have to be more consistent catching the ball. That’s one of the things we talked about in the off season and I told them I’d never mention it to them again.” _ Receivers coach Nolan Cromwell.
