Publishers halt sales of ‘Forbidden Love’
The U.S. and Australian publishers of a best seller about a Jordanian honor killing have canceled further sales of the book after a newspaper questioned the story’s authenticity.
In an 18-month investigation that spanned three continents, the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Norma Khouri’s “Forbidden Love” – the disturbing account of a woman stabbed to death in a so-called honor killing because of her relationship with a Christian man – was “a fake.”
