N.L. Monday’s game

The Spokesman-Review

Rockies 4, Phillies 2: At Philadelphia, Vinny Castilla’s tiebreaking, two-run double with two outs in the eighth inning led Colorado past Philadelphia. The Phillies fell six games behind East-leading Atlanta in their first home game since starting a 13-game road trip just a half-game back of the Braves. Philadelphia trails Chicago by 3 1/2 games in the wild-card race. Colorado, which has the third-worst record in the N.L., improved to 3-1 since trading star outfielder Larry Walker to St. Louis. Colorado’s Luis Gonzalez led off the eighth with a tying homer against reliever Todd Jones (8-3), pitching for the first time in Philadelphia since coming to the Phillies in a trade with Cincinnati on July 30. Aaron Miles singled with one out, Todd Helton was hit by a pitch and Castilla then lined a double to left.
