Art in the Garden - Eighth annual 2004 Cherry Blossoms art show and botanical garden, featuring over 300 varieties of plants all labeled with common and botanical names, along with pressed floral artwork by Cherry Rosin. Continues today and Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Rosin Gardens, 1015 Mingo Mt. Road, Kettle Falls, Wash. Admission: $3/person, $2/person/group of 5 or more. Call 738-2519.

Annual Flower Show - The Gardeners of Spokane will have their annual show “The Flora of Lewis and Clark.” The public is welcome for viewing Saturday from noon-5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Spokane Valley Community Center, 10814 E. Broadway. Call 467-9804.

Centennial Celebration - Ice cream social, Saturday, 1-4 p.m., Manito Park Pavilion, 18th and Grand Blvd. Ice cream catered by Mary Lou’s Homemade Ice Cream. On display will be antique cars, strolling models in vintage clothing, live music throughout the park. Free and open to the public. Call 625-6682.

Take a Walk on the “Wild” Side - Identify wildflowers, know how they are used by native animals, which are edible vs. poisonous, what we mean be exotic species, and be given a short history of the park by a qualified naturalist, sponsored by Spokane Parks and Recreation. Fifth Annual Koi and Goldfish Show - Presented by Inland Empire Water Garden and Koi Society, Aug. 28, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Aug. 29, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Spokane Fair and Expo Center, Havana at Broadway. Admission: $6/general, under age 12/free. Kids Club members admitted free. Call 928-9209.

Town and Country Iris Society - Meets first Friday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Spokane Valley Library. The next meeting will be held Sept. 3. For more information, call 255-9615.

Friends of Manito Fall Plant Sale - The complete plant list is available online at www.thefriendsofmanito.org, or at TFMs office. Net proceeds from this sale are used to improve and maintain Manito Park. Sept. 11, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with member-only sale from 8-10 a.m. at Manito Park, in area just east of Gaiser Conservatory.
