North Idaho Fair Open Horse Show – North arena today and Sunday. Halter classes Saturday at 8 a.m. Performance classes Sunday at 7:30 a.m.

Lake City Playhouse – Discount season tickets are on sale now for the 2004-05 season. By one season ticket through the month of August and receive the second one at half price. Auditions are ongoing for all productions as well. Two men and four women ages 13 and older are needed for the first production, “A Shayna Maidel.” Auditions are Aug. 30-31 at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 667-1323 or stop by the theater at 1320 E. “Aesop’s (Oh So Slightly Updated) Fables” and “Spring Fever” – presented by Looking Glass Theater Co. today, 3 and 7 p.m. at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint. Cost is $7 adults, $5 students and children. Information: 263-9191.

Summer Activities Continue at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library – Movie time is Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., puppet shows Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., movie time on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. On Mondays and Fridays the craft table is set up all day. Information: 769-2315.

Community Children’s Clothing Giveaway – 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 521 Lakeside Ave. School items, lunch boxes, shoes, backpacks, winter coats, clothing, etc., in sizes infant through high school. Information: 667-8446.

Summer Sounds at Park Place – Pend Oreille Arts Council presents, Out of the Wood, noon-2 p.m. at Park Place stage, 330 N. First Ave., Sandpoint. For more information, call 263-6139.

Saturdays in the Selkirks – hiking series concludes at Beehive Lakes Trail No. 279. Hike is 4.4 miles one-way to Upper Beehive Lake and is rated difficult. Takes four to six hours to complete. Meet at Samuels Service Center, 13 miles north of Sandpoint on U.S. Highway 95. Information: 263-3573.

Second annual Blanchard Scramble Golf Tournament – 2 p.m., Stoneridge Golf and Recreational Community. Fee: $45 per player includes greens fees, cart, range balls and a barbecue meal. Proceeds will benefit Blanchard Senior/Community Center building fund. Teams welcome. For registration or more information, call StoneRidge Pro Shop, 437-Golf.

Pend Oreille Arts Council’s 32nd Aanual Arts and Crafts Fair – today, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at Sandpoint City Beach. Jewelry, pottery, paintings, fiber art, metal, glass, food booths and the popular kid’s art booth. Information: 263-6139.

Celebrate Life Fun Run/Walk – begins at 9 a.m., at the north end of the Long Bridge in Sandpoint. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at Dog Beach. Cost: $12 for ages 6-16, $20 for those 17 and older. Under 5 participate free. Participants receive a T-shirt.
