Beach volleyball: Top-ranked American women Misty May and Kerri Walsh begin their gold-medal quest against Japan’s Ryo Tokuno and Chiaki Kusuhara. A major question surrounds May’s health after an abdominal injury sidetracked her pre-Athens preparations.
