Twins 8, Yankees 2: Brad Radke pitched seven solid innings and Corey Koskie drove in three runs as Minnesota defeated visiting New York. Koskie and Justin Morneau each homered for Minnesota.
Devil Rays 8, Angels 3: B.J. Upton became the first teenager in more than six years to homer in a major league game as Tampa Bay beat Anaheim at St. Petersburg, Fla. Upton, 19, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2002 draft, gave the Devil Rays a 2-1 lead in the third with an opposite-field shot to right off Kelvim Escobar.
Athletics 11, Orioles 0: Tim Hudson pitched a five-hitter to earn his first victory since June 11, and Scott Hatteberg’s second grand slam of the season highlighted a four-homer attack that carried Oakland to a win in Baltimore.
Red Sox 5, Blue Jays 4: Orlando Cabrera hit a run-scoring double off the Green Monster in the ninth on reliever Justin Speier’s second pitch of the game to give Boston a win over visiting Toronto.
Tigers 11, White Sox 8: Bobby Higginson hit a three-run homer in the second and a two-run drive in the fourth as Detroit hit four homers off Freddy Garcia to win in Chicago. The loss dropped Chicago five games behind Central-leading Minnesota.
