North Idaho boys basketball teams opened the 2004-2005 season this week.

Coeur d’Alene and Lake City tip off their seasons against a pair of Boise-area schools. On Friday, Meridian visits LC and Centennial is at CdA. Both games begin at 7:45 p.m.

The teams swap opponents on Saturday afternoon. The Meridian-CdA game begins at noon and the Centennial-LC contest begins at 1 p.m.

In an opener tonight, Post Falls entertains Bonners Ferry (0-2), which opened with losses to Sandpoint and Lakeland.

On Friday, Sandpoint (2-0) returns to action when it plays host to North Central of Spokane while Lakeland (1-0) is at home against Colville.

Prep basketball polls

The Idaho Spokesman-Review and Coeur d’Alene Press have launched a cooperative effort to feature boys and girls basketball polls this winter. The polls will be published weekly through the regular season.
