2 Kick start: The Eagles have had one game come down to a kick, which was the lone game they lost in the last nine. Montana blocked a field-goal attempt with 18 seconds left to escape Woodward with a 31-28 win, although the blame wasn’t put on sophomore kicker Sheldon Weddle. He had another attempt blocked last weekend. Eastern has never settled on a kicker. Weddle has made 5 of 9 field goals, with a long of 41 yards, and Skyler Allen has made 2 of 3. The pair generally alternates on extra points, although when one misses the other usually finishes the game. Allen has made 31 of 33 extra points, Weddle 24 of 27.

Sam Houston kicker Lance Garner has made 14 of 19 field goals, with a long of 49, and senior Joey Price has booted a 49-yarder. Garner has also been perfect on 51 PATs. SHSU has blocked six kicks this season, including two field goals in one game. If the game comes down to a last-second kick, there is reason for concern.
