“A Christmas Carol” The one-act play onstage today at the Lake City Playhouse, 1320 E. Garden Ave., at 2 p.m. Additional shows Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and next Sunday at 2 p.m. Cost: $14 adults, $12 students and seniors and $8 for children. Annual Candle Lighting Ceremony and Potluck Dinner 6 p.m., at Lake City Senior Center, 1916 Lakewood Drive, hosted by the Bereaved Parents of the USA. This event is held in conjunction with National Children’s Memorial Day. Bring a hot dish or salad to share. Ham, drinks and dessert provided.

Rep. George Sayler to speak – 10:30 a.m., at North Idaho Unitarian Universalist Church, at the Harding Family Center, 15th and Wallace. Topic will be: “Will No Child be Left Behind?” The discussion will focus on implications for students and teachers. Sayler is also a teacher at Coeur d’Alene High School. A coffee hour follows.

Sounds of Christmas The North Idaho College Symphonic Band and various NIC vocal groups present seasonal favorites at 2 p.m. at NIC’s Boswell Hall, Schuler Auditorium. Information: 769-7764.

Really BIG Raffle Tickets are now on sale for the 12th annual event. Tickets are $100 and only 4,500 will be sold for the grand prize $200,000 custom home built by the North Idaho College Carpentry Program. All proceeds benefit educational needs at NIC. Information: 769-3271.

Wild Game Feast Tickets are on sale now for North Idaho College Alumni Association’s Wild Game Feast, Jan. 15, at the Coeur d’Alene Inn, 414 W. Appleway. Tickets are $50 and proceeds benefit the association and scholarships. Information: 769-7806.

Holiday Light Show – continues through Jan. 3. More than a million and a half lights are on display and are best viewed from a Fantasy Cruise to the North Pole. The 40-minute cruises depart at 4:30, 5:15, 6, 6:45, 7:30, 8:15, 9 and 9:45 p.m. from the Third Street Marina. Cost: $11.75 adults; free for children ages 10 and under. Information: 765-4000.
