Fur wearers can run from PETA, but they can’t hide

FUR-LOVING NEWLYWED Star Jones Reynolds‘ “appetite for animal destruction” has landed her in the top spot on People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ annual Worst Dressed list.
“With the number of dead animals she wore at her wedding, it looked more like a funeral,” PETA says.
In second place is Cindy Crawford, who actually appeared in an “I’d rather go naked than wear fur” PETA ad a decade ago.
“With that big furry mole on her face, you’d think she’d be more sensitive to the plight of animals,” the group says.
Rounding out the list are Jennifer Lopez (“The lives of the animals she wears are like her relationships: short and painful”); Susan Lucci (“Her hideous furs make Emmy’s biggest loser one of animals’ worst abusers”); and college freshman Ashley Olsen (“Here’s a tip on adjusting to life at New York University: The Big Apple is not the Yukon – you don’t need to look like Bigfoot in order to fit in.”)
Now it’s de Rossi for DeGeneres
The latest news from the Ellen DeGeneres romantic front: She’s broken up with girlfriend of four years, photographer Alexandra Hedison and has taken up with “Arrested Development” actress Portia de Rossi.
As a result, de Rossi has split from her longtime gal pal, singer Francesca Gregorini (Ringo Starr‘s stepdaughter).
DeGeneres and de Rossi first met some nine months ago at a photo shoot, but didn’t get serious until seeing each other again at VH1’s “Big in ‘04” awards show on Dec. 1.
And we can imagine the cheerleader outfit
“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria, the only one of the show’s leading ladies not to receive a Golden Globes nomination Monday, says she’ll be at the awards show next month to root for her fellow cast members.
“They have all paid their dues and are so awesome to work with. It couldn’t have happened to better women,” the sultry Longoria said.” “I am so happy that I get to go to the Golden Globes and just be a cheerleader.”
Not enough sing time for Kidman
Nicole Kidman has left the big-screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical “The Producers” because of scheduling difficulties.
Kidman was set to don fake breasts to play busty Swedish secretary Ulla in the film version of the Mel Brooks musical, opposite Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. But her hectic schedule won’t give her enough time to practice the singing and dancing the role requires.
Kidman is currently shooting a film adaptation of the classic TV series “Bewitched” and plans to star opposite Russell Crowe in “Eucalyptus” next year.
He’s back to being Colin the ingrate
Colin Farrell, fresh off his big-screen turn in “Alexander,” is set to make his U.S. TV debut in the hit sitcom “Scrubs.”
He’ll guest-star in a role to which he is accustomed – an unruly Irishman – in an episode to be aired on Jan. 25. He’s a friend of Zach Braff, the star of the tongue-in-cheek show about the life of hospital doctors.
It marks Farrell’s first foray onto the small screen since his role in the British TV series “Ballykissangel” in the late ‘90s.
