Name: Don Bjorn

Hometown: Hayden Lake
Family: Wife, Jan; his son Will, 17, who is a senior at Coeur d’Alene High School, and daughter Sarah, 14, who attends Canfield Middle School. The name Bjorn is Scandinavian. His paternal grandparents came from Denmark.
Occupation: A counselor at North Idaho College for 11 years. Before that he was a counselor at the Job Corps, a government program for at-risk kids that helps them obtain their GED’s and get their lives back on track. He was with the Job Corps in Yachats, Ore. He moved here to take the job with NIC. He has a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Idaho.
Pet: The family dog, a cocker spaniel named Maddie, who won’t allow them to have any other pets!
Music: Don enjoys soft pop, like Norah Jones.
Favorite films: This time of year he enjoys the musical version of “Scrooge.” He also likes “The Bourne Identity” and its followup, “The Bourne Supremacy;” “Ghandi” “really moved him,” and “A Man For All Seasons.” Oh, he also likes “Shrek,” “Shrek II” and “Finding Nemo.”
Christmas: Not doing too badly on the shopping. He likes buying online and having the gifts sent wherever. He will be home with his family for the holidays, and they have houseguests – “relations of sort” – coming from Australia.
