Republic’s 32-game win streak was snapped at Brewster, 81-69, in a clash between the reigning Class B and Class A state boys basketball champions Tuesday night.

After falling behind by 20 points in the second quarter, Republic rallied to cut the Bears lead to just three points with 3 minutes left – missing a 3-point shot to tie the game.

Hawkins Gebbers scored 10 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter for Brewster. Michael Taylor, son of Brewster coach Tim Taylor, tossed in 21 points and Chase Lamoreaux added 20.

Brothers Zach and Derek Gianukakis each scored 21 points for the Tigers (7-1), with post Zach Giddings out with an injured ankle.

Lake City 61, East Valley 60: The visiting Timberwolves came from behind in the fourth quarter and earned the non-league win when Ryan McPhee hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left. East Valley missed a 3-pointer and a layup in the closing seconds. Kory Kreighbaum tossed in 20 points and Ryan McPhee added another 19 to lead Lake City (4-3). The Knights (3-4) got 20 points, five steals and six rebounds from Nick Atwood and five assists from Bryce Hoekema. … Tekoa-Oakesdale 46, Colfax 44: Tyler Young scored 21 points by drilling seven 3-pointers to lead the Nighthawks (7-0) to a homecourt win. Derek Flock added 14 points by hitting 6 of 12 field-goal attempts. Brian Danaher scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs (2-5). … Colville 55, Kettle Falls 53: Late free throws by Jordan King and Matt Weatherby earned the Indians (3-2) the victory. Dan Bell tossed in 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Colville, with Brant Olson adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Bulldogs (6-3) got 19 points from Zac Barber and another 11 from Brandon Holibaugh. … Lakeland 68, Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 58: Lakeland shot 58 percent from the floor to shoot down Lakeside at Nine Mile Falls. Ryan Gallia drilled 5 of 7 shots from 3-point range and 7 of 7 from the line to finish with 26 points and lift the Hawks (4-4). Alex Stillar scored 17 points and Garrett Perkins added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (4-3). … Chewelah 54, Bonners Ferry 45: The Cougars (4-1) went on an early 18-0 run and led 25-8 after a quarter. Michael McCanna paced Chewelah with 11 points, with Allen Stone and A.J. Proszek each adding another 10. The Badgers (2-6) were led by Bryan Cossairt’s 13 points and six assists and Matt Rice’s 14 points and eight rebounds. … Northwest Christian 70, Oroville 60: Jared McConahy totaled 19 points and nine rebounds, and Jesse Vowels added 13 points and 10 assists to lead the host Crusaders past the Hornets at the NWC Tournament. NWC will meet Wellpinit at 5 p.m. today for the title. Oroville will play Deer Park at 2 p.m. in the consolation. … Priest River 67, Cusick 55: The Spartans (4-3) used a halfcourt press to build an 11-point lead at intermission, 32-21, at Cusick. James Nenema had 17 points to lead the Panthers (1-4). … Colton 80, Kootenai 62: The Wildcats (3-6) grabbed third place in the Troy tournament behind the 17-point effort of Joe Smetana, who led five players in double-figure scoring. Seth Robertson had 13 points, Jamie Benson 11 and Kyle Schultheis and Thomas Jacobs 10 each. … LaCrosse-Washtucna 65, Logos 28: The Tigercats (3-2) sprinted out to an 18-3 lead after one quarter and led 42-7 at halftime. Matt Martin had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead LaCrosse-Washtucna.

Broncos hold off Liberty

Lind-Ritzville 57, Liberty 47: The Broncos built a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter at home only to have Liberty drill three consecutive 3-pointers. Cameron Stevens led all scorers with 20 points for Lind-Ritzville (3-0, 4-0), with Jake Kragt adding another 11. Andy Hodgson paced the Lancers (3-2, 3-3) with 19 points.
