Braulio Santana and Adiel Sanchez combined to hold Spokane to a season-low three hits as the Vancouver Canadians upended the Indians 4-1 Thursday in Vancouver.

Santana (1-2) earned his first win of the season by throwing six strong innings. He allowed just one run on two hits, walking five and striking out four.

Sanchez followed with three nearly flawless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three to pick up his first save of the season.

Indians starter Clayton Jerome (2-2) went three innings, allowing four hits, three runs — all earned — while walking two and striking out four. His ERA on the season rose to 6.50.

Juston Lensch threw four solid innings of relief, allowing one run on two hits, striking out two and walking one. Marcos Herrera pitched a perfect eighth for the Indians.

The Canadians (9-12) opened the scoring in the third, scoring three runs on three hits. They got another in the fourth on a walk, an error and a fielder’s choice.

The Indians (11-10) got their run in the sixth. Jim Fasano walked, Catcher Lizahio Baez, who had two of the team’s three hits, doubled off the wall in right-center to advance Fasano to third. Fasano then scored on Chris Alexander’s grounder to short.

Before the game, the Texas Rangers moved right-hander Josh Rupe to the Stockton Ports of the California League. In the four games he spent with Spokane during a rehab assignment, Rupe was 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA.
