Baseball

Sign up: Fall wood-bat league starts Sept. 11 and runs through mid-October. Divisions will be 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13-year-olds. It will be a 10-game season. Basketball

Sign up: Adult basketball leagues for men and women this fall at Sports USA Complex. Starts Sept. 13 and runs through Nov. 19. Also, ladies over-40 clinic on Sept. 10, 5-8 p.m. Info: Stacy (509) 232-2822.

Cycling

Dodgeball

Fishing

July 15: Learn how to fly fish the Spokane River in the summer at Blue Dun Flyfishing Outfitters from 4:30-6 p.m.

Golf

Sign up: SPRC junior golf tournaments. July 19, Downriver, 7:30 a.m.; July 26, Esmeralda, 1:30 p.m.; Aug. 10, Qualchan, 7:30 a.m.; Aug. 30, Indian Canyon, 1:30 p.m. Cost of $20 includes green fees, balls, tees, lunch and prizes. Indian Canyon costs $45. Info or registration: 625-6200.

Lawn bowling

Sign up: Lawn bowling six days a week through October just south of Witter Pool on Mission. Monday, Wednesday and Friday bowling is at 7 p.m. and at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Nature

July 20: Join wildlife biologist and bat expert Sandy Rancourt for an illustrated presentation on the Bats of Turnbull at 8 p.m. in the Environmental Education Center at Refuge headquarters.

Soccer

August 6-8: Seattle Soccer Cup open for men and women for levels open over 30, 40 and 50. Coed and Co-rec will have competitive and recreational brackets. Register by July 14. Info: www.seattlesoccercup.com.

Softball

July 17: Benefit coed softball tournament for Special Olympics Idaho at Stub Meyer Park in Rathdrum, Idaho. This event is during Rathdrum days and a street dance with a live band will follow the one-day tournament. Entry fee is $100. Info: (208)699-1773

July 10: Fourth annual Krista L. Baker Memorial Tournament to create awareness for organ donation at Dwight Merkle Field in North Spokane. Info: Holly Stetson (509)744-3411.
