Morrison among 16 finalists

Gonzaga University sophomore Adam Morrison remains in the hunt for one of the 12 roster spots on the 2004 USA Basketball World Championship For Young Men Qualifying Team after cuts were made on Sunday at a tryout in East Rutherford, N.J.

The finalists continue training through Friday.

USA and University of Oklahoma coach Kelvin Sampson is being assisted on the sidelines by collegiate head coaches Tom Crean of Marquette University and Dan Monson of the University of Minnesota.

Baseball

The Langley Blaze twice scored a run in their final at-bat to pull off a 9-8 and 4-3 sweep over the Spokane RiverHawks in Pacific International League action on Sunday at Heider Park in Langley, B.C.

Ryan Stevenson went 4 for 4 with three doubles, four RBIs and a run scored for Spokane in the opener. Teammate Bryan Winston had a pair of hits in the second game, including a two-run single in the second inning.
