Gonzaga University baseball coach Mark Machtolf announced Tuesday the signing of second baseman Scott Campbell and pitcher/shortstop Matt Fields to national letters of intent.

Fields, of Lake Stevens (Wash.) High, was named offensive most valuable player during the Idaho/Oregon/Washington all-star series. The right-hander finished 8-1 with 80 strikeouts during his senior season.

Campbell, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, hit a team-high .423 for Central Arizona College this year. The left-hander had eight doubles and 10 stolen bases.

Six other players have signed with the Bulldogs, including Darin Holcomb of Shadle Park High and Dan Ramsey of Mead High.
