Griffith keys Monarchs’ win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Yolanda Griffith had 20 points and eight rebounds, helping the Sacramento Monarchs to a 71-62 victory over the Indiana Fever in WNBA action on Sunday.

Ruthie Bolton made a 3-point shot with 4:54 remaining to put the Monarchs ahead 57-56. Sacramento never trailed again in winning for the third time in four games.

Indiana dropped its fourth straight game, all on the road. The Fever have lost six consecutive road games overall, tying a franchise record.

Natalie Williams had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Fever, and Tamika Catchings added 15 points.
