Charles Rohr
Hayden Lake, Idaho
At his request, there will be no service for Charles E. Rohr, 82. Yates Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rohr, who was born and raised in West Seattle, died July 20.
He went to work for Boeing as a welder out of high school in 1938 and married his longtime sweetheart, Mary Luise Afflerbach, in 1942.
Mr. Rohr enlisted in the Army Air Corps and flew 35 missions over Germany and Europe during World War II as a B-17 command pilot . He led the largest bomber raid in the history of the war, a 2,000-plus aircraft assault on German ball-bearing factories at Schweinfurt, Germany.
He remained in the service after the war, becoming a colonel and base commander of Fairchild Air Force Base, and retired in 1974.
Mr. Rohr and his wife moved to Hayden Lake that year.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters Julia McHugh and Susan Pruitt; a son, Charles Jr.; a brother, Stephen Rohr, and a sister, Dorothy Benkert, both of West Seattle; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Rohr’s youngest son, Thomas, died earlier.

Ella Marie Snow White
Spokane
Memorial service for Ella Marie Snow White, 86, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rockwood Manor, 2903 E 25th Ave. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. White, who was born on a cattle ranch near Henryetta, Okla., died July 21.
She attended high school in southern Missouri, graduated from Springfield High School in 1935 and married Lowell White.
In 1937 the couple moved to the Wenatchee Valley.
She was active in the community in Monitor, Wash., with the Community Methodist Church, the Hospital Guild and with the Boy Scouts as a den mother and as a staff member at the Northwest Council Camp.
She was responsible for the first school lunch program at the Monitor School from 1945 to 1954. She then worked for Wenatchee Truck and Tractor until 1956, when her family moved to Spokane.
In Spokane, Mrs. White worked for Old National Bank, Washington Mutual Savings Bank and New York Life Insurance and attended night school for 20 years.
She was active in Manito United Methodist Church, United Way, Planned Parenthood, Peace and Justice Action League, and Rockwood Retirement Communities, where she spent her last 12 years in Rockwood Manor.
She enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include four children, Gordon White of Sandpoint, Michael White of Rice, Wash., Myrene McFarland of Seattle and SuCarolyn Green of Spokane; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis June Williams
Coeur d’Alene
Private service will be held for Phyllis Williams, 77. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams, an Indiana native and formerly of Sacramento, Calif., died Saturday.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marvin Edward Williams; three sons, Alan Williams of Minnesota, Richard Williams of Utah and Warren Williams Sr. of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Sherry Hughes of Calif.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Doris (Prichard) Hughes
Twenty Nine Palms, Calif.
Service for Doris Valentine (Prichard) Hughes, 83, was Saturday in Twenty Nine Palms.
Mrs. Hughes, a former 75-year resident of Spokane, died July 19 in Twenty Nine Palms, her home for four years.
Born in Spokane, she graduated in 1938 from Lewis and Clark High School and later graduated from Kinman Business University.
She married Rex Hughes Sr. in 1945.
Mrs. Hughes worked as a medical office secretary for Dr. Kessler and took early retirement due to an injury. She also had worked as a clerk for Dr. Lambert and at the Spokane Public Defenders Office.
As a resident of the San Succi Senior Mobile Home Park for 25 years, she also was a member of its Senior Citizens Club and was entertainment director.
She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and oil painting. She also enjoyed playing pinochle, for which she started a club in Spokane.
In Twenty Nine Palms, she was a member of Congregational Church and the Elks Auxiliary. She started a pinocle club there also.
Her husband died in 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Reigher of Spokane and Lynn Epolito of Atlanta; two sons, Rex Hughes Jr. of Twenty Nine Palms and Reese Hughes of Spokane; a sister, Mary Kay La Fallette of Beaverton, Ore.; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
JoAnne Weathermon
Spokane
Visitation for JoAnne Weathermon, 46, will be today from noon to 8 p.m. at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Funeral will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Bethel Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Weathermon, who died Sunday, was born in Colfax. She was a lifelong resident of the Spokane area.
She graduated from Colfax High School in 1976. She attended Spokane Falls Community College and Spokane Community College, where she studied horticulture and secretarial work.
Mrs. Weathermon was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bethel Nazarene and the Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Stephen Weathermon; two sons, Jeremy and Robert Weathermon, both of Spokane; her father, Norman Kunze of Yuma, Ariz.; a brother, Michael Kunze of California; two sisters, Susan Graham of Washington and Betsy Modrak of Idaho; and five grandchildren.

Beverly ‘Betty’ Vincent
Spokane
Private service will be held for Beverly June “Betty” Vincent, 82. Neptune Society is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Vincent, who died Saturday, was born in Everett.
She lived her school years and beyond in Leavenworth, Wash., where she met and married her husband.
They moved to the Spokane area in 1944.
Mrs. Vincent worked as a riveter for Brown Industries during World War II.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jesse; a son, Tom of Post Falls; a daughter, Linda of Spokane; two brothers, Howard of Spokane and George of Wenatchee; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
Robert ‘Lovey’ Lucas
Spokane
Visitation for Robert L. “Lovey” Lucas, 77, will be today from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Lucas, who was born in Spokane, died Monday.
A 1945 graduate of Gonzaga High School, he was a charter member of the Gonzaga Booster Club.
He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 35 years.
He also served in the Navy during World War II.
He was a past grand knight with the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Eagles Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bernadean; seven children, Theresa Ketchum of Spokane, Mary Ellen King of Renton, Wash., Kay Lucas-Lott of Salem, Ore., Nancy Schmitz of Kennewick, Peggy Trepanier of Spokane, Robert of Spokane Valley and George of Othello, Wash.; a sister, Ellen Berry of Spokane; two brothers, Jim of Cheney, and George; and numerous grandchildren.

Catherine Hergesheimer
Cedonia, Wash.
Funeral for Catherine Ann Hergesheimer, 88, will be today at 10 a.m. at the Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, with graveside service at the Cedonia Cemetery.
Mrs. Hergesheimer, a longtime resident of the Cedonia, Wash., area, died Saturday. She was born in Bowden, Alberta.
She spent her early years in Canada before moving to the Aspen Valley area near Colville, where she attended school and helped on the family farm.
In 1940 she married Fay Hergesheimer, and the couple moved to Cedonia, where they owned and operated the family farm for more than 30 years. They retired in 1972 and moved to Arden, Wash., in 1981.
Her husband died in 1997, and Mrs. Hergesheimer moved to the Buena Vista retirement facility in 2002.
Mrs. Hergesheimer enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, painting and listening to and reciting tales of the old West.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene MacNaughton of Colville; a stepson, Darrell Benzel of Dixie, Wash.; three sons, Gale Hergesheimer of Gifford, Wash., Dean Hergesheimer of Vancouver, Wash., and Dorlan Hergesheimer of Lewiston; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth (Wagner) Kamm
Spokane
Memorial service for Elizabeth Marie (Wagner) Kamm, 93, will be today at 3 p.m. at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kamm, who was born in Spokane, died July 21.
In 1918 the family moved to Four Mound Prairie, where she attended a one-room country grade school.
She attended North Central High School in Spokane, where she worked for room and board and in 1930 graduated from Cheney Normal School with a teaching certificate.
In 1931 she married Herman Kamm, and the Depression forced them to move to Wenatchee, where they worked in the apple orchards.
In 1942 they returned to Spokane , where they started a dairy and grain farm.
Mrs. Kamm enjoyed flower gardening.
Her husband died in 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Wendlandt; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

David Wiks Jr.
Kettle Falls, Wash.
Graveside service for David L. Wiks Jr., 64, will be today at 2 p.m. at Meyers Falls Cemetery in Kettle Falls. Danekas Funeral Chapel, Colville, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wiks, who died July 23, was born in Coeur d’Alene.
During his childhood the family moved to various parts of Idaho and in 1954 settled in Marcus, Wash.
Mr. Wiks graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1957. He attended Eastern Washington State College for a time. He later entered the Army and was a member of the Army Band.
Upon his discharge he attended Washington State University and received a bachelor’s degree.
Mr. Wiks worked for Long Lake Lumber Co. and Plum Creek Lumber Co.
He was an avid reader and musician and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include a sister, Norma Norton of Spokane; a brother, Jake Wiks of Spokane; and his former wife and friend, Patty McCullough of Kettle Falls.
Mary ‘Peggy’ Nealand
Coeur d’Alene
At her request, no service will be held for Peggy Nealand, 84. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nealand, who was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., died Tuesday.
She had a profound love of music, especially swing, and worked in a record store in Los Angeles in the 1940s. She married Edwin Nealand, and the family moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1972.
While in Los Angeles she served as the head of Saint Cyril’s Parent-Teacher Association and the Women’s Club and as a den mother. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues.
She is survived by three sons; Mark, Craig and Darryl; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
