Taste of the Coeur d’Alenes, Downtown Street Fair and Art on the Green – All three events kick off today. The Taste will have approximately 25 food booths, the downtown street fair will feature local arts and crafts, and Art on The Green held on the North Idaho College Campus is a juried art show. Dance on the Lake – with Tuxedo Junction on two of the resort’s largest boats that will be tied together for plenty of room to dance. Kootenai County Democratic Club – meeting at noon at the Iron Horse restaurant. The organization MoveOn.org’s video of a speech by Al Gore will be shown. Information: 777-1588.
Players in Progress Performance Team signup deadline – The team performs at halftime at local high school and college basketball games. Camp will be Aug. 14 at the Post Falls Middle Schools, and practices will begin Sept. 12 ; $75 if registered by Friday; $5 late fee after that. Information: 773-0539.
Fifth annual Better CARE Memorial Walk – 6-11 p.m. in St. Maries. The event will take place at the City Park lower football field and track. Proceeds will benefit Better CARE, a Benewah Hospital foundation. A luminaria with the name of a loved one inside can be purchased for $10 and will be lighted at a 10 p.m. ceremony.
