Dorothy Greco
Spokane
Memorial service for Dorothy Greco, 81, will be Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Deland, Fla. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Greco, who was born in Deland, died Thursday. She was a resident of Spokane for 20 years.
She was a writer and journalist, and in earlier years had been a newspaper reporter and editor for the Sanford (Fla.) Herald and the Daytona Beach News Journal in Deland. She also did radio and TV reports.
Mrs. Greco co-authored books, was a free-lance journalist for numerous magazines, wrote plays and taught piano.
She was on the council of Sans Souci Mobile Home Park and was a member of Ridgeview Christian Center Church.
Her husband, Charles Greco, died in 1987.
Survivors include three children, John Higginbotham of Spokane, James Higginbotham of Jackson, Miss., and Louise Smith of San Diego; one sister, two brothers, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wilma (Wood) Davis
Spokane
Memorial service for Wilma Charlotte (Wood) Davis, 76, will be today at 3 p.m. at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis, who was born in Lime Ridge, Wis., died Tuesday.
After graduating from high school, she worked in Reedsburg, Wis., where she married James Davis in 1948.
The couple lived in Wisconsin until 1961, when they moved to the West Coast. They moved to Yakima in 1963.
Mrs. Davis attended Yakima Valley College and in 1970 graduated with a degree as a registered nurse.
She moved to Spokane in 1973 and began working for Rockwood Clinic in 1975. She worked there for 15 years.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed camping, horseback riding, canoeing, boating, gardening, painting, music and reading.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dennis Davis of Selah, Wash., Steve Davis of Yakima and Jeffrey Davis of Bloomsberg, Pa.; two sisters, Dorothy Carlson of Loganville, Wis., and Mary Seep of Cazenovia, Wis.; a brother, Clifford Wood of Phoenix,; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
James ‘Jim’ Sevy
Kellogg
Memorial service for James Ray “Jim” Sevy, 84, was held in Panguitch, Utah. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Sevy died July 17 while attending a family reunion in Panguitch.
He was born in Panguitch and attended school in Utah, and then served in the Navy during World War II.
He married Oma Thompson in 1939. She died in 2001.
As a young man, Mr. Sevy had worked as a cowboy and herded sheep and cattle throughout southern Utah. He moved to the Silver Valley in 1941 and worked as a contract miner and later was employed as a supervisor for various projects around the country.
Mr. Sevy was a member of the Scottish Rite, Shrine, and the Wallace Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a past exalted ruler of the Kellogg Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting and building model wagons from scratch.
Survivors include three children, John Sevy of Seattle, Jim Sevy of Meridian, Idaho, and Kevin Sevy of Osburn, Idaho; four brothers, Ike Sevy of Escalante, Utah, Ted Sevy of Ventura, Calif., Ken Sevy of Kellogg, and Max Sevy of Panguitch; three sisters, Elva Liston of Escalante, Peggy Thompson of Weiser, Idaho, and Ruth Shakespere of Overton, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Wayne ‘Pete’ Bomgaars
Mica
Memorial service for Wayne Lloyd “Pete” Bomgaars, 74, will be today at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bomgaars, who was born in Worthington, Minn., died Thursday.
He graduated from Worthington High School and served four years in the Air Force.
Mr. Bomgaars worked for GMAC/Motors Insurance Corp. as a senior adviser. While employed with General Motors he lived in Amarillo, Texas, Clovis, N.M., Oklahoma City and Spokane, where he retired from General Motors.
After retiring he made his home in Mica and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He had been active with his sons in the Scouting and Little League programs.
Mr. Bomgaars was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; three sons, Jeff and Jack, both of Oklahoma City and Jim of Guthrie, Okla.; a brother, Gilbert of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

Eleanor Bain
Spokane
Vigil for Eleanor J. Bain, 81, will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Bain, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday. She was a lifetime resident of Spokane.
She worked at Pacific Northwest Bell and then as a bookkeeper and secretary at Laborers Local 238.
She was an accomplished painter and poet and made handcrafted birthday and Christmas cards.
She and her husband, Lloyd, adopted four children and took in five foster children.
She was a member of St. Anns Catholic Church, a sewing club, and Retirees of Local 238.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Bain of Spokane and David Bain of Spokane Valley; three daughters, Krista DiLuzio of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Theresa Bain of Spokane and Judy Brewer of Kalona, Iowa; two sisters, Wilma Kramer of Spokane Valley and Evelyn Finicle of Spokane; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Wilbur ‘Web’ Osterlund
Spokane
Visitation for Wilbur “Web” Osterlund, 85, will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Osterlund, who died Wednesday, was born in Potlatch, Idaho.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He worked as a welder for the railroad in his early years and later worked at the Ralston Purina Feed Mill as head mechanic.
Mr. Osterlund was a member of the Crestline Church of the Nazarene and was a Golden Eagle member of the Eagles Lodge.
His wife, Marjorie, died in 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Ham of Mead and Danna Randall of Spokane; a son, Steven Osterlund of Spokane Valley; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bertha (Hayes) Cameron
Hayden, Idaho
Graveside service for Bertha L. (Hayes) Cameron, 86, will be today at 11 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at Yates Funeral Home Hayden Chapel Gathering Center.
Mrs. Cameron, who was born in Onida, S.D., died Wednesday.
She moved to North Idaho in 1933 and married Floyd Cameron in 1935. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a paper carrier for The Coeur d’Alene Press for 33 years.
Mrs. Cameron enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Survivors include three children, Jim Cameron of Coeur d’Alene, Bob Cameron of Seattle, and Norma Geren of Hayden; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Charles Castles
Bonners Ferry
Service for Charles “Chuck” Castles, 87, was held at an earlier date.
Mr. Castles, who was born in Hiko, Nev., died Sunday.
He worked as a carpenter in Las Vegas and built casinos in the early 1950s. Mr. Castles also was an equipment operator in Civilian Conservation Corps camps and was employed in the logging industry, where he owned his own dozer and self-loading logging truck .
He later retired as the custodian of the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry.
Survivors include a son, Ken Castles; five stepchildren, Marla Bohne and Ron Sinclair, both of Post Falls, Mary Ann Ames of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, Jenny Fessler of Bonners Ferry and Randy Sinclair of Mount Vernon, Wash.; and several grandchildren.
