Manito plant sale - The Friends of Manito will have their Spring Plant Sale on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Manito Park just east of the Conservatory. TFM members can shop from 8-10 a.m. The sale will feature flowering perennials, ornamental grasses, vines, houseplants and culinary herbs. The complete plant list is available online at www.thefriendsofmanito.org, or at TFM’s office. Net proceeds from this sale are used to improve and maintain Manito Park. Rosalia, Thornton garden tour - The Rosalia Garden Club will host its Gardens of the Palouse Tour on Saturday from noon-5 p.m. Five gardens in Rosalia and nearby Thornton will show off an array of styles, plants and use of antique farm implements from the early days of the Palouse. Tickets are $5 and available at each garden. Addresses are: 928 S. Summit Ave. and 404 E. “E” St. in Rosalia; and in Thornton, 3801 Old Thornton Highway, 102 Klaveano Road and 1902 Cashup Flats Road.
Rose show - The Spokane Rose Society’s 57th annual Rose Show will be Saturday from 1-6 p.m., at the Spokane Valley Mall. This year’s theme is Flower Power with horticulture and floral design competition.
Spokane roses tour - The Spokane Rose Society will hold its Roses, Roses, Roses Garden Tour on June 26 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Four gardens will be open for visits and will feature lots of different ways to show off roses and other great plants. Admission is two cans of food for Spokane’s Second Harvest Food Bank. Maps can be picked up at any of the gardens. Addresses are: 1128 E. Glass Ave., 2828 W. Euclid Ave., 3508 W. Glass Ave. and 1105 N. Bowdish.
AAUW Garden Tour - The Colville Branch of the American Association of University Women is sponsoring a scholarship fund-raising garden tour of nine gardens in the Colville, Kettle Falls and Boyds area on June 26 from 1-6 p.m. Ticket booklets with maps are $10 and available at Happy’s Hallmark, 1735 Main in Colville, or by mail to AAUW, Tour Tickets, 1884 E. Hawthorne, Colville, WA 99114. They will also be available on the day of the tour at Home Garden, 900 N. Hofsetter, Colville. For more information, call (509) 684-6608.
