The Met goes Western in July

From Soundwave this week Spokane7.com/soundwave

Get your spurs and six-shooters ready. The Wild West is coming to The Met next month.

Grammy-winners Riders in the Sky are bringing their brand of traditional American Western music to town at 7 p.m. on July 10, and tickets for the show go on sale today at 10 a.m.

The 26-year-old group – comprising singer/guitarist Ranger Doug, upright bassist Too Slim, fiddler/singer Woody Paul and accordionist Joey the CowPolka King – whose members boast influences such as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers have worked in some capacity on various award-winning projects (“Toy Story 2,” “Monsters Inc.”) and with many huge names (U2, Roy Rogers).

With that type of background, it’s not likely the Riders will leave a Spokane crowd unsatisfied.

Tickets are available at TicketsWest outlets ( www.ticketswest.com or 509-325-SEAT).

John Hiatt, Reality, Kottonmouth and Soul

Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. for legendary songwriter John Hiatt, who will be performing with special guest John Dee Graham at the Big Easy Concert House at 8 p.m. on July 20. Reserved seating tickets are $35, and are available through TicketsWest.

All-female Black Sabbath tributeers Mistress of Reality will rock the Big Easy on July 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10, and go on sale today at 10 a.m. through TicketsWest.

Getting thirsty? Then you won’t feel alone at the Kottonmouth Kings show at the Big Easy on Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Special guests OPM, Big B and Straw Man also will perform. Tickets are $13.50, and go on sale today at 10 a.m. through TicketsWest.

Former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera is bringing his band Soulfly to the Big Easy at 8 p.m. Aug. 4. The experimental teeth-grinding metalheads will be sharing the stage with Ill Nino and Crisis. Tickets are $19.50, and go on sale today at 10 a.m.
