Knights double up RiverHawks
The Aloha Knights pounded out 18 hits and scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to pull away to a 14-7 victory over the Spokane RiverHawks in Pacific International League baseball action on Friday evening at Spokane Falls Community College.
Nate Fogle (1-1) picked up the win for Aloha, despite allowing seven runs in his seven-inning stint.
Dan Lundeberg (1-1) took the loss for the RiverHawks. He allowed seven runs in five innings.
Tim Preston homered for Aloha.
Volleyball
Washington State University volleyball coach Brian Heffernan announced the hiring of Kevin Wray as an assistant coach for the Cougars.
“I’m excited to have Kevin join the Cougars coaching staff,” stated Heffernan. “He’s a great fit for (WSU) and he not only is a very good coach, but he is genuinely interested in student-athlete development.”
Wray coached the Golden West Girls Volleyball Club teams out of Huntington Beach, Calif., for the past two years.
