Mission Ave. will close Friday

The Spokesman-Review

A main thoroughfare in Liberty Lake will close for repaving work this week.

While the final schedule has not been set, Mission Avenue will likely shut down Friday and possibly one other day as well, said Doug Smith, Liberty Lake’s director of planning and community development.

The $250,000 project will make the road more pedestrian friendly by adding sidewalks. Mission will also get new pavement and a turn lane. The project is being paid for by the property owners along the road, Smith said.

The project between Homestead and Molter roads, started in early June and is scheduled to be completed by early July.

Nearby, Molter Road also will be under construction starting in mid-July between Appleway and Sprague. The road will get a new layer of asphalt and a curb and gutter will be put in. The project is estimated to cost between $500,000 and $700,000.

One lane will remain open during the Molter roadwork, Smith said.
