Oz’ cast members take turn on The Jury’
There are several intriguing new shows on tonight, from an upbeat “P.O.V.” to a typically twisted “Nip/Tuck.” But let’s go with the cool stunt casting.
Tonight at 9, on Fox’s “The Jury,” a bunch of cast members from HBO’s late, lamented prison drama “Oz” will reunite as the citizens trying to reach a verdict in a murder case arising from a prison riot. Missing security camera video is just one of the factors they’ll have to consider.
The two shows share writer-producer Tom Fontana, and now they’ll share actors including Betty Buckley, J.K. Simmons and Eamonn Walker. Joe Morton plays the district attorney prosecuting an inmate charged with clubbing the prison chaplain to death. Director Barry Levinson, who also worked with Fontana on “Homicide,” plays the judge.
