Equestrian

May 22-23: North Country Riders Gaming Club show at s and B Arena in Colbert, WA. Starts at 10 a.m. both days. Individual events are figure 8, flags, barrels, poles, cal stake, keyhole and key race. Paddling

May 16: Sea-kayaking rescue clinic, by world-class paddler Chris Duff, has a couple of slots still open. Cost: $75. Pre-register through Mountain Gear, 325-9000. Class will meet in Spokane at 11 a.m. and travel to an area lake for the course.

May 22: Full Spectrum Tours of Sandpoint will sponsor its annual Paddlefest on Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille at the Sandpoint City Beach. The event features recreational, touring, sit-on-top and pedal kayaks. Info: (208) 263-5975 or www.kayaking.net.

June 20: Spokane River Canoe Classic, fun race with various categories for canoes and kayaks, starts from Corbin Park in Post Falls. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.; start at 11 a.m. Choose from , with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. Choose either six-mile “citizens” run or 14-mile “marathon” section. Sponsored by Moutnain Gear and Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club. Cost: $15 per person. Everyone who finishes is eligible for post-race prize drawings at Plante Ferry Park. Pre-register by June 11. Tennis

Sign up: The Coeur d’Alene Tennis Association offers leagues for players of all abilities. Deadlines for those leagues are approaching.The adult league is open to anyone 18 years or older (and juniors 15 and older, space permitting) and will run for 10 weeks. The deadline for registration is Monday. The junior league is open to youth ages 10-17 and will run for six weeks. The registration deadline is May 17. Registration forms are available at the Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department (or online at www.cdaid.org) or by calling 772-1002.

Volleyball
