REC the Park – Riverside State Park’s third annual open house, Saturday, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Events include: “Operation Family I.D.,” cards and fingerprinting provided by S.C.O.P.E. members; mountain bikes demos by REI; information on the park’s Junior Ranger program; bike rodeo and course with free bike helmets and inspection; guided horseback rides provided by Backcountry Horseman; guided mountain bike rides with the Fat Tire Bike Club; orienteering with the Eastern Washington Orienteering Club; boating safety presentation and inspection provided by Spokane County Sheriff Office Marine deputies; canoe and kayak demonstrations by Mountain Gear; off road vehicle safety clinic and demonstration; Civilian Conservation Corps presentation; and nature games and crafts.
