Washington Trust Bank has recently promoted Jason Tellinghusen to the position of assistant vice president. Tellinghusen has been with the bank since 2000 and is a certified public accountant. He is the manager of management reporting and financial systems.
Angela Curtis has been promoted to assistant vice president and manager of Washington Trust Bank’s main branch. She has been with the bank for 11 years and has 14 years of experience in banking.
Jerry Lyon has been promoted to executive vice president and community bank director at Sterling Savings Bank. Lyon has been with the bank since October of 1996 and has worked as branch manager and business banking leader of the Spokane Valley branch and a regional manager.
Tidyman’s LLC has recently promoted Greg Babbitt to the director of non-perishables. Babbitt has been with Tidyman’s since 1977 and was most recently the grocery supervisor.

Cancer Care Northwest has recently hired Dr. Hakan Kaya as a medical oncologist. Dr. Kaya has experience in hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplantation, and prostate cancer. He is a 1993 graduate of Ankara University School of Medicine in Turkey and completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Kathryn Smith has recently been hired at the Manito office of Windermere Real Estate. Smith has been a Realtor since 1982 and was previously with John L. Scott in Spokane.

Sarah Robinson of Prairie Animal Hospital in Coeur d’Alene has recently been named Employee of the Quarter. Robinson is a veterinary technician that has been with the hospital for six and a half years.
Michael Harkin of the Valley sales office of MetLife Auto & Home has recently been appointed as a member of the Advance Property and Casualty Council for outstanding sales achievement. Harkin has been with the company for four years.
Northwest Business Development Association has recently received a U.S. Small Business Administration Annual Performance Award for its outstanding number of 504 loan approvals.
Alan Ross of Ross Printing Company will be recognized in the June 2004 issue of Inc. Magazine in an article entitled “10 sales tips from those who sell well all the time.” Ross is the president and sales manager of the company.
ELECTED/APPOINTED
Mike Davis, CTO of ReliOn Inc., has recently been elected as chairman of the board of directors of the National Hydrogen Association. Davis will serve a term of two years on the board.
Gordon Zimmerman has recently been appointed senior vice president of the Pend Oreille region of Mountain West Bank. Zimmerman was previously the president of Pend Oreille Bank and has worked in banking western Montana as well.
David McKenzie of Dream World Consulting has recently been elected as president of the Spokane Referral Network. McKenzie has been in the sales, marketing and revenue development field for 15 years.
PHILANTHROPY
Richard and Barbara Taylor of Redmond, Wash. have recently established a scholarship endowment of $100,000 to help students in Gonzaga’s Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program. The scholarships will be awarded on academic achievement and financial need and will be awarded to one entering freshman and one junior a year.
NEW LOCATION
The Pre-Vocational Training Center is moving to a new location at 4004 E. Boone Ave. Along with the move, the center is changing its name to Skils-kin, a Salish word that means a place one goes to learn about oneself.
