Camera phones are beginning to pack the megapixel punch of digital still cameras.

Although the vast majority of camera phones sold in the U.S. have a resolution of less than 1 megapixel, last month Samsung unveiled a 5-megapixel model. Such high-resolution phones will slowly begin working their way into the North American market, analysts say.
