Fans need to behave
After the Yankees and the Red Sox series, I came to realize that law enforcement is very unforgiving. However, this is a standard that needs to be kept up, otherwise the police force would end up having no control, getting pushed around like rag dolls. America needs a force we can stand behind with a sense of security.
Unfortunately, an innocent life was taken during a rowdy celebration, due to a supposedly non-lethal projectile that was shot and ended up hitting a young woman in the eye. The situation could have been worse, though. Imagine what could have gone wrong, had there been no force to retain the crazed Boston fans near Fenway Park, many of whom were drunk and wreaking havoc.
The police force needs to find more non-lethal ways to aggressively put an end to disputes and problems, but fans also need to grow up and show some more respect for property and each other when it comes to celebrating a baseball game. Yes, the come-from-behind series win was amazing, especially to residents of Boston, but baseball games are still trivial in comparison to peoples’ lives.
