LSU holds off Baylor

Seimone Augustus scored a career-high 33 points, but the No. 3 LSU Tigers needed a last-second deflection by 5-foot-3 Temeka Johnson to escape with a win in the Tip-Off Classic at Austin, Texas, by defeating the No. 8 Baylor Bears 71-70.

Johnson finished with 15 points, nine assists and four steals.

LSU (3-0) led by as many as 21, but Baylor (0-1) charged back behind 22 points by Steffanie Blackmon, Sophia Young’s 19 and Emily Niemann’s 15.
