Ryan Sonnek scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Fort Lewis Skyhawks to an 83-79 overtime victory over the Idaho Vandals in the Boise State Invitational Sunday at Boise.

Fort Lewis forward Tim Bieri scored on a putback with 5 seconds remaining to send the game into OT. Bieri finished with 18 points.

Idaho guard Dillon Higdon scored a team-high 18 points, including all eight points scored by the Vandals in overtime.

Idaho jumped out to a 31-21 lead in the first half, but the Skyhawks closed with a 15-4 run to grab a 36-35 lead at halftime.

A dunk by Dandrick Jones gave Idaho a 71-69 lead with 15 seconds remaining in regulation.

“If I could pinpoint on shortcoming that made the difference today, it would be fatigue,” said Idaho coach Leonard Perry, whose team was playing its third game in three days.

The Vandals committed 23 turnovers on the night, while Fort Lewis tallied 15.
