Auditions for “Proof” – The North Idaho College Theater department is looking for two females who can play roles for characters in their 20s to 30s, and two males, one who can play a character aged 20-30 and one aged 50-70. Christmas Parade and Fireworks – The parade starts at 5 p.m. Friday on Sherman Avenue, followed by the lighting ceremony on the front lawn of the Coeur d’Alene Resort, and the fireworks show which will fire more than 1,000 bursts per minute from four barges in front of the Resort.
“A Letter to True” – This Bruce Weber film will be shown at the Panida Theater Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. $6 adults, $5 seniors and students. Information: 263-9191.
Public unveiling of the Festival of Trees – Friday right after the lighting ceremony, inside the Coeur d’Alene Resort. $2 adults, $1 children.
Santa at the Silver Lake Mall – Bring a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network, meet at the main mall doorway by the food court at 9 a.m. Saturday and parade through the mall with Santa. The parade will stop at Santa’s chair, where there will be a light breakfast and Santa will read a book out loud for the children.
Family Day at the Coeur d’Alene Resort – Sunday children’s choirs will be performing from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and admission is $1. Children’s workshops will be set up in the Plaza Shops with holiday craft projects for 25 cents each.
“Lewis and Clark Crossing the Centuries” – The Idaho Public Television-produced DVD will be shown Monday at 7 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, followed by a demonstration by local historian Robert Singletary of clothing and equipment used by the Corps of Discovery. Information: 769-2315.
“Kennewick Man: An Epic Drama of the West” – In 1996, two college students stumbled upon an anthropological find that would change the way North Americans view their past. This film will be shown Monday in the Todd Lecture Hall in Molstead Library on the North Idaho College Campus. Information: 769-3397.
