Why, such a pretty little girl and boy you have there
It’s a girl – and a boy – for actress Julia Roberts. Roberts gave birth to twins Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus Walter Moder on Sunday morning at a Southern California hospital, her publicist said.
Roberts, 37, was confined to bed last month after experiencing a series of early contractions and wasn’t due until early January.
The publicist said that “mother and babies are doing great” but didn’t release any other details.
Roberts married cinematographer Danny Moder in July 2002 at her home in Taos, N.M. The twins are her first children.
She skyrocketed to fame with “Pretty Woman” in 1990 and won the best actress Oscar in 2001 for “Erin Brockovich.” Roberts has two films coming out this month: “Closer,” which opens Friday, and “Ocean’s Twelve,” the sequel to 2001’s star-studded heist caper due Dec. 10.
Britney: from Madonna to with child?
Britney Spears sure is sounding like someone who’s in a family way.
The newlywed singer, who is widely rumored to be pregnant, has posted a message on her subscription-only fan site rhapsodizing over the joys of motherhood.
“I’ve had a career since I was 16, have traveled around the world and back and even kissed Madonna! The only thing I haven’t done so far is experience the closest thing to God and that’s having a baby. I can’t wait!”
Says Maria, ‘Look at Mimi’
Songbird Mariah Carey has a message for her fans: Call me Mimi.
“Mimi is a very personal nickname only used by those closest to me,” Carey, whose next album will be titled “The Emancipation of Mimi,” explains on her Web site.
Now, she says, “I am letting my guard down and inviting my fans to be that much closer to me. Most importantly, I am celebrating the fact that I’ve grown into a person and artist who no longer feels imprisoned by my insecurities or compelled to try and live up to someone else’s vision of Mariah Carey. I now feel I can honestly say, ‘This is me, the real me – take it or leave it.’ “
Victoria’s Secret sauce with that?
Victoria’s Secret supermodel Heidi Klum has been tapped to supersize McDonald’s public image, signing a two-year deal to endorse the hamburger giant.
“She’s a young mother and represents modern lifestyle,” a McDonald’s spokesman said.
“I like to be healthy and eat well, but I also like to have a good time and have an occasional glass of wine or french fries,” Klum said earlier this year.
The food, well, it’s not such a good thing
Lunchtime at the Federal Corrections Camp in Alderson, W.Va., apparently is nothing to write home about – unless one is eating with Martha Stewart.
Roman Catholic nun Carol Gilbert, serving time for her role in an anti-war protest, says she enjoys eating with Stewart, although the setting could be better.
“We’re not talking about a tea party,” said Gilbert’s attorney, Sue Tyburski. “We’re talking about a big cafeteria setting with the terrible food.”
