Feature creature
A dozen pirouettes and a bark is the language Keylo speaks and this reporter figured out the translation a few seconds too late. Doggie had to piddle. The spotted boy lifted his leg and said hello to the side of my shoe. But no worries. He’s still young and his golden eyes suggest intelligence and the ability to improve his manners, given a little time and training. Keylo calms right down once he knows he has your attention. Kootenai Humane Society volunteers consider him “essentially” housebroken and who can blame him anyway? He hasn’t had a house of his own since before April when he was found wandering on 22nd Street in Coeur d’Alene.
Maybe you spotted Keylo at the recent “Race for the Cure” event at North Idaho College. Volunteers brought him along for the fund-raiser and said he loved the pats on the head. He’s good with kids and other dogs.
Keylo qualifies for a discounted adoption fee that is granted long-staying Humane Society guests. If this sounds like the pet for you, call KHS at 772-4019 or stop by the shelter at 11650 N. Ramsey Road in Hayden Lake.
