Betty Hall

Spokane Valley

Funeral for Betty Ann Hall, 79, will be today at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral, with burial at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hall, who died Tuesday, was born in Orofino, Idaho.

She married Gordon Hall in 1942, and they moved to the Spokane Valley in 1962. She worked at Deaconess Hospital as a ward secretary.

Mrs. Hall was a member of Good Sams, Queen Avenue Free Methodist Church, and Opportunity Free Methodist Church.

She enjoyed oil painting, decorating wedding cakes and flower arranging. She was a prayer warrior.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Hall of Spokane Valley and Ric Hall of Spokane; a daughter, Joan Smith of O’Fallon, Ill.; a brother, Bill Alteneder of Rathdrum, Idaho; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Inland Northwest Alzheimer’s Association.

Lois Hiccox

Spokane

Memorial service for Lois Jean Hiccox, 77, was Sunday at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hiccox died Thursday. Born in Spokane, she graduated from Rogers High School in 1945. In 1947 she married Hugh Hiccox.

Mrs. Hiccox worked as a waitress for the Davenport Hotel during the early 1940s. She also worked at the YWCA as a craft instructor.

She was den mother for Cub Scout Pack 10, past national president of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and a member of the DUV Lizbeth Turner Tent No. 4 of Spokane.

Survivors include her husband; a son, John Hiccox; a sister, Marian Haskins; and two granddaughters.
