Kaare Johnson
Moses Lake
Funeral for Kaare Morgan Johnson, 22, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Moses Lake Alliance Church. Kayser’s Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, a longtime resident of Moses Lake, died Wednesday.
Born in Enumclaw, Wash., he grew up there and moved with his family to Moses Lake before moving to Spokane, where he completed his senior year at Valley Contract High School.
Three years after high school, Mr. Johnson returned to Moses Lake.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed sports. He played recreational and high school football and basketball.
He was a member of the Moses Lake Freestyle Wrestling Club from age 10 to 18, and as a three-year varsity wrestler at Moses Lake High School, he won numerous medals and awards. In 1998 and 1999 he wrestled at the state tournaments, placing fifth at 135 pounds in 1999.
Mr. Johnson worked as a machine operator at Western Polymer.
He enjoyed fishing and reading Stephen King novels.
Survivors include his companion, Niki Miyeko Haga; two children, Shelbi and Jayden Johnson, both of Spokane; his mother and stepfather, Patti and Gene Youngblood of Moses Lake; his father and stepmother, John and Dotti Johnson of Warden, Wash.; two sisters, Karin Johnson and Margot Johnson, both of Moses Lake; and his grandparents, Ann Johnson of Arizona and Margaret and Bob Trask Sr. of Moses Lake.
Dorothy Terrell
Spokane
Visitation for Dorothy Terrell, 94, will be Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Terrell, who was born in Davenport, Wash., died Thursday.
While attended Cheney Normal School, she founded Tawanka, a female ambassador organization for the university, and served as president of the organization three times.
Mrs. Terrell taught for 25 years at schools in Washougal, Wash., and Pasco. After retiring, she was active in educating high school students about drug abuse, child abuse and suicide prevention.
She placed drug prevention kits in public schools throughout the state and worked with doctors to deliver seminars on child abuse.
She received numerous awards, including Washington State Retired Educator of the Year, EWU Outstanding Service Award and EWU Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Her husband of 31 years, Loren, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Janet Gabrio and Thomas Terrell, and a brother, Edwin Young, all of Spokane; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Leila (Eaton) Robertson
Granbury, Texas
Graveside service for Leila Ann (Eaton) Robertson, 42, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Robertson, who was born in Sandpoint, died Wednesday.
She grew up in Sandpoint and in 1979 graduated from high school there. She graduated from beauty college in Coeur d’Alene and later moved to Granbury.
She enjoyed sewing quilts and flower and vegetable gardening. She also was learning to paint.
She was a professional cake decorator, worked at Starbucks Coffee and had been learning upholstery at her second home in Pagossa Springs, Colo.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Robertson of Granbury; three children, Keith Kehle of Wichita, Kan., and Titus and Chase Turner, both of Coeur d’Alene; three stepchildren, Isaac, Daniel and Hannah Robertson, all of Granbury; her parents, Larry Eaton of Sandpoint and Donna Steinacher of Kamiah, Idaho; and two brothers, Chris Eaton of Newman Lake and Lane Steinacher of Post Falls.
Joan Bosch
Spokane
Funeral Mass for Joan Marie Bosch, 48, will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Jesuit House Chapel, 1106 N. Astor St. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Bosch, a lifelong resident of Spokane, died Thursday.
She attended St. Charles Grade School and Marycliff High School and graduated from Shadle Park High School. She attended Spokane Community College and obtained her licensed practical nurse credentials, working at Sacred Heart Medical Center for seven years.
For the past 12 years she had been doing massage therapy and holistic healing.
Survivors include a son, Adrian Blackhurst of Vancouver, B.C.; her mother, Alice Bosch, and her father and stepmother, Bill and Colleen Bosch, all of Spokane; three brothers, Dan Bosch of Mendocino, Calif., Bob Bosch of Seattle and Bill Bosch of Yakima; and two sisters, Carol Schoentrup and Terri Hart, both of Spokane.

Frank Heard
Spokane
Memorial service for Frank W. Heard, 93, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Cheney Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Heard, a longtime resident of Spokane, died Thursday.
He was born in Scotland and moved to Kansas with his family when he was 3.
He served with the Army during World War II in North Korea and Italy.
After the war he met Thelma Barnaby, and the couple married in 1947 in Spokane.
Mr. Heard built and managed the Hideaway Mobile Home Park in Spokane for many years and was retired from civil service at Fairchild Air Force Base.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman and also enjoyed camping and RVing.
Mr. Heard was a longtime member of Four Lakes Community Church.
His wife died earlier.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Dodge, and a son, Greg Heard, both of Spokane; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Virgie Hillbrick
Spokane
Burial for Virgie Mae (Tyson) Hillbrick, 93, will be today at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hillbrick, who was born in North Dakota, died Friday.
She worked as a dental assistant at Eastern State Hospital for most of her career and retired from Lakeland Village, where she was an attendant counselor.
Mrs. Hillbrick had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge since 1949 and the Washington State Grange for 30 years.
Her first husband, William Carl Sr., died in 1976. She married Llevellyn Hillbrick in 1978.
Survivors include her husband; a son, William Carl; four stepchildren, Mary Anderson of Sprague, Marsha Belfils of Medical Lake, James Hillbrick of Princeton, Idaho, and Timothy Hillbrick of Tacoma; three siblings, Violet Tyson of Colorado Springs, Leonard Tyson of Cheney and Ralph Tyson of Ritzville, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Gladys (Poole) Jones
Coeur d’Alene
Service for Gladys E. (Poole) Jones, 82, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene, with burial at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jones, who was born in Hermosa Beach, Calif., died last Tuesday.
She grew up in Southern California and performed as a musician with her father and siblings in the Los Angeles area in the 1920s and 1930s.
She graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1939 and then began a successful career with North American Aviation in Downey, Calif., where she served as executive secretary to the medical director for many years. She retired after 25 years of service and moved to Coeur d’Alene with her husband, Lester. He died in 2000.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.
Survivors include two children, Thomas Schaper and Barbara Sutera; two sisters, Doris Hayden and Margaret Mailer; and a granddaughter, Summer.
Helen Bucher
Spokane Valley
Funeral for Helen E. Bucher, 78, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Spokane Valley. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Spokane. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bucher died Friday. She was born in Sacramento, Calif., and arrived in Spokane when she was 6.
She graduated from Rogers High School in 1944.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed painting and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Her husband, Floyd, died in 2001 after 55 years of marriage.
Survivors include three sons, Barry and Mike Bucher, both of Spokane Valley, and Paul Bucher of Newman Lake; three daughters, Claudia Bucher and Jennifer MacKay, both of Spokane Valley, and Judy Veselits of Spokane; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ruth (Giese) White
Smelterville, Idaho
Memorial service for Ruth Mae (Giese) White, 79, will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pinehurst First Baptist Church. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. White, who was born in Athol, Kan., died Sunday.
She married Ronald White in 1950, and they operated several small businesses , including a variety store in Portola, Calif., and a real estate business in Anderson, Calif. She also worked as a beautician for several years.
Mrs. White moved to the Silver Valley from Missoula in 1999. Her husband died that year.
She was a member of Pinehurst First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include two sons, Ron White of Spokane and the Rev. Don White of Kingston, Idaho; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Michael Burrell
Spokane
Funeral for Michael John Burrell, 39, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burrell, who died Tuesday, was born in Spokane. He was a lifelong resident of Spokane.
He graduated from Mead High School in 1983. From 1983 through 1985 he attended Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College, where he was on the President’s Honor Roll.
In 1989 he graduated from Gonzaga University, magna cum laude, in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Mr. Burrell was an auditor at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
He was an avid reader and collected the entire M.A.S.H. series.
Survivors include his father, Carl Burrell Jr.; his mother and stepfather Jane Kay and Ross Brown; a brother, Mark Burrell Sr.; and a sister, Christine Bellinger.
Joan (Wilhite) Sharon
Post Falls
Service for Joan M. (Wilhite) Sharon, 74, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, with burial at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Sharon, who was born in Wichita, Kan., died Saturday.
She married Albert Sharon in 1949 and was a homemaker.
She wrote songs and poems and enjoyed painting.
Mrs. Sharon was involved in her church and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.
She moved to North Idaho in 1980 from Garden Grove, Calif.
Survivors include her husband of more than 55 years; five children, Mike, Jeff and Kim Sharon, all of Post Falls, Steve Sharon of Spokane Valley and Dan Sharon of Westminster, Calif.; a sister, Laura McClendon of San Jose, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Muriel (MacCallum) Mitchell
Hayden, Idaho
No service will be held for Muriel J. (MacCallum) Mitchell, 82, at her request. Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mitchell, who was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, died Thursday.
She moved to Hayden in 1955 and worked as the head housekeeper at the Hayden Lake County Club for several years.
Survivors include a son, Randy Mitchell of Hayden; two sisters, Edna Smith and Olive Nicol, both of Winnipeg; and one grandson.
