The Bs
Southeast B-11: In football, Asotin (4-0, 1-0), with a one-point victory over Pomeroy last Friday, looks to hold its undefeated record and first-place spot in the league. Top-ranked DeSales (5-1, 1-0), however, will challenge the Panthers this Friday at Asotin. The Irish have appeared in six of the last eight State B-11 title games, winning three. Northeast B-11: Although most eyes are trained on next week’s first-place football showdown between No. 5 Reardan and No. 3 Lind-Ritzville, Reardan will have some work to do to get there unscathed. Republic (4-1) comes to town Friday looking to act the part of spoiler. If Republic is to pull the upset, it will have to solve the puzzle of Reardan’s defense. The Indians have allowed 29 points in five games. Southeast B-8: The football championship is on the line this week as undefeated and defending state champion LaCrosse-Washtucna (5-0, 3-0) travels to Colton-Pullman Christian (5-1, 3-0). This could be a close game, but the top-ranked Tigercats have only allowed opponents to score 41 points, 129 fewer than Colton-Pullman Christian. Another tough matchup should be St. John-Endicott (3-2, 1-2) at Jubilee Christian Academy (5-1, 3-1). A win for Jubilee could move them into second place, if LaCrosse-Washtucna picks up the win at Colton. Panorama: Inchelium’s volleyball team could set up a three-way tie for first with a win over 6-0 Selkirk on Saturday. Curlew (5-1) handed the Hornets (5-1) their first loss on Tuesday. Bi-County: Lind-Ritzville’s (5-2) volleyball team plays at Davenport (5-1) on Saturday, a match that will likely help shake out the battle for second in the Bi-County.
