Marilyn Shannon

Post Falls

Memorial gathering for Marilyn Patricia Shannon, 66, will be next Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the family home, 5188 E. Woodland Drive in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Shannon, who was born in Fresno, Calif., died Saturday.

She lived in San Gabriel, Calif., before settling in Post Falls in 1993.

She had worked as a bookkeeper in North Idaho.

Mrs. Shannon enjoyed reading, gardening, crafts and quilting.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Wayne; two daughters, Sherry Chaney of Idyllwild, Calif., and Joni Campbell of Post Falls; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Vincent Alberty

Spokane

Memorial service for Vincent Earl Alberty, 53 will be today at noon at the East Central Seventh-day Adventist Church. Hennessey Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Alberty, who died Oct. 14, was born in Greenville, S.C.

He had lived in Spokane for the past 34 years and earned his master’s degree in social work from Eastern Washington University. He had served in the Air Force.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Burton of Augusta, Ga., three sons, Vincent, William and Issac; a daughter, Ashli; four brothers Calvin, John, Gregory and Willi Hutto; three sisters, Terrie Jenkins, Cheryl Epps and Melanie Cummings; and three grandchildren.

Esther (Schaefer) Follmer

Post Falls

Visitation for Esther Ruth (Schaefer) Follmer, 95, will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Graveside service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Follmer, who was born in Odessa, Wash., died Monday.

She moved to the Spokane Valley with her family when she was 10 and graduated in 1927 as Central Valley High Schools valedictorian.

She married Math Follmer in 1931 and they farmed on the Rathdrum Prairie until retiring in 1968.

The couple moved to Post Falls in 1969. Her husband died in 1997.

She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, flowers, crossword puzzles and gardening.

Survivors include six nieces and nephews, Maggie Fraze, Ralph Schaefer, Helen Triechel, Robert Schaefer, Wayne Moeller and Walter Blackmer.

Hilda (Achterberg) Rand

Silverton, Idaho

Memorial service for Hilda Matilda (Achterberg) Rand, 86, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Rand, who was born in Hasley, Wis., died Friday.

She moved to the Silver Valley from Minnesota in 1950, and married Charles Rand in 1958.

Mrs. Rand was a homemaker, and worked as a cook at various Silver Valley restaurants.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include a son, Earl Beeler of Downey, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Lehman of Tigard, Ore., and Melva Meitsner of Roosevelt, Ariz.; two grandsons, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

George Stancik

Smelterville, Idaho

Memorial service for George A. Stancik, 48, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Stancik, who was born in Kellogg, died Oct. 19.

He was a lifelong Silver Valley resident and worked as a miner and painter.

Survivors include two sons, Aaron and Erik Stancik, both of Moscow, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Tori Scott of Kingston, Idaho; his father, George Stancik of Smelterville; and two sisters, Mary Brewer of Kellogg and Jeannie Payne of Coeur d’Alene.

Theodore Dill D.D.S.

Spokane

Burial Mass for Theodore Dill, D.D.S., 78, will be today at 2 p.m. at Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Hennessey Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dr. Dill, who died Sunday, was born in Palouse, Wash.

He graduated from Palouse High School and served in the Air Force.

He operated a dental practice in Spokane. He had served as a past president of the Spokane Dental Society and was a former member of the Spokane Manito Country Club and the Spokane Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Halene Mary (Etter) Dill; two sons, Steve Dill of Seattle and Michael Dill of Pacific City, Ore.; six daughters, Chris Angell, Kelly Carlstom and Lindsey Dewey all of Spokane, Teresa Brynestad of Silverdale, Wash., Holly Rasmussen of Bellingham and Heidi Gesigner of Spearfish, S.D.; his ex-wife, Wilena Dill of Spokane; two brothers, Les Dill of Spokane and Walt Dill of Stockton, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
