Pullman stays perfect
After playing a scoreless first quarter, Pullman erupted with four touchdowns in the second en route to a 52-7 Great Northern League win at Chewelah.
With one game remaining in the regular season, the Greyhounds remained undefeated in league play at 5-0. Chewelah, which committed eight turnovers in the game, fell to 3-3 in league.
Mike Thomas carried 12 times for 92 yards and two touchdowns for Pullman. Quarterback J.T. Levenseller passed for a pair of touchdowns and Scott Hagihara returned an interception 48 yards for a TD.
In other GNL games, Colville remained a game behind Pullman by earning a one-point victory at Riverside, 28-27. Colville plays host to Pullman in the regular season finale Thursday. … Deer Park got a pair of short touchdown runs from Derrik Jensen to take a 26-13 victory at Medical Lake. Quarterback Tom Wolf carried 12 times for 152 yards and a touchdown and passed for a second for the Stags.

Unbeaten Freeman romps
Freeman, the No. 2-ranked Class 1A team in the state, remained unbeaten by spanking visiting Kettle Falls, 37-6. The Scotties were without standout running back Kevin Hatch, who missed the game with a broken collarbone. Sophomore quarterback Andrew Dresback ran for one touchdown and passed for two more, including an 80-yard strike to Brian Riggs, who caught three passes for 108 yards. Receiver Andrew Wilkerson pulled in a 57-yard touchdown pass for a touchdown and returned a Bulldogs’ punt 57-yards for a score. … Colfax needed two overtimes to earn a home field win over Newport, 12-6. The Grizzlies fumbled away a chance to win the game in regulation, giving up a fumble that defensive end Josh Morse returned 95 yards for a third-quarter touchdown. The Bulldogs ended both Newport possessions in overtime with interceptions, the second in the end zone.

Lind-Ritzville made a 39-point first half stand up, holding off Selkirk 39-18. Quarterback Travis DeWald threw for two touchdowns and Jake Kragt scored twice on short runs for the 8-0 Broncos. Nick Ashley carried six times for 135 yards, including an 85-yard touchdown romp in the first quarter. Derrek MacArthur carried 16 times for 72 yards and a touchdown to lead the 4-4 Rangers. … Reardan rumbled past visiting Almira/Coulee-Hartline, 39-0. Bob Christerson carried seven times for 119 yards and two touchdowns for Reardan, which took a 20-0 lead after one quarter. Columbia (Hunters) clinched the league championship with a 50-0 dismantling of visiting Mansfield. Quarterback Dominic Kegel passed for two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions. … Sprague-Harrington returned two Curlew passes for first-quarter touchdowns en route to a 42-8 victory.
