Mark your calendar for weekend full of sports
Are you ready for some football? If not, how about soccer or volleyball? Local sports action is heating up with a variety of contests.
Crisp evening fall air makes watching football and soccer in local stadiums enjoyable and next weekend’s match-ups should produce some good contests.
Lake City High School Timberwolves travel to Post Falls Friday to meet the Trojans for a 7 p.m. kickoff. With a season record of eight wins and three losses, reaching the state playoffs last year and a number of returning starters, the formidable Timberwolves face a strong defense and talented quarterback from their opponents.
Also in Post Falls, Falls Christian hosts the Harrison Kootenai Warriors at 7 p.m. Friday in a duel of eight-man football.
In Rathdrum, the always-tough Lakeland Hawks host the Colville Indians at 7 p.m. Friday.
Girls soccer comes home next week as well, with Lake City hosting Eisenhower Friday at 5 p.m. and Kennewick playing at noon Saturday on the Lake City High School field.
Admission to high school football and soccer games is $5 for adults and high school students, $3 for middle school students, $2 for elementary students and free for seniors (60 and older). Discounts apply for holders of student body cards.
