Climbing

Sept. 21: Robert Madsen, a local climber who lives in Coeur d’Alene, presents a free slide show, 7 p.m. at Mountain Gear. Canyons of Zion, Escalante Grand Staircase, Cedar Mesa Plateau and Dark Canyon Wilderness will be covered. There will be approximately 200 slides covering hiking, backpacking, climbing, rappelling and swimming in slot canyons in Southern Utah.

Cycling

Sept. 12: Spokane Bicycle Club Autumn Century ride through Spokane and Stevens counties with varied terrain. Family/individual ride is 20 miles (starts at 10 a.m.); Metric Century is 62 miles (9 a.m.) and Full Century is 100 miles (8 a.m.).
