Edwards leads Lynx to win

Teresa Edwards scored 18 points and the Minnesota Lynx snapped a two-game losing streak with a 64-61 victory over the Seattle Storm on Friday night at Minneapolis.

Helen Darling added a career-high 10 assists for the Lynx, who moved into sole possession of third place in the Western Conference, one game behind Seattle.

Sue Bird led the Storm with 15 points, and Lauren Jackson added 12 for Seattle, which is within a victory of securing a playoff berth.

Sun 77, Liberty 66: At New York, rookie Lindsay Whalen had 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting and Connecticut moved into a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference with a victory over New York.

Becky Hammon scored 17 points, and Crystal Robinson added 16 points and surpassed 2,000 career points as the Liberty fell out of a tie for the conference lead.

Silver Stars 82, Fever 65: At Indianapolis, LaToya Thomas scored all 21 of her points in the second half as San Antonio beat Indiana.

Five San Antonio players finished in double figures and the Silver Stars shot 59 percent from the field, the best shooting performance in the league this season. Adrienne Goodson had 16 points, and Shannon Johnson, Semeka Randeall and Adrian Williams added 10 apiece.

The winning margin was the largest in franchise history for San Antonio, which won consecutive games for just the second time this season.
