Lots going on for the ‘Gilmore Girls’

Lots of season premieres, guest stars and reality-show finales tonight.

Michael Jordan! Eddie Murphy! The finish line for “Amazing Race 5!”

But let’s recommend our longtime Family Fare staple “Gilmore Girls,” which has its season bow tonight at 8. The episode title is “Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller,” and you have to love any show that can reference Henry James and not get laughed out of the joint.

In last season’s finale, it appeared that our “Girls” were growing out of the Family Fare category, as our Yalie sweetheart Rory (the winning Alexis Bledel) finally went for a roll in the hay. The problem: Her swain was her EX-boyfriend Dean, who also happens to be MARRIED.

Rory, Rory, Rory. Needless to say, as we pick up where we left off, mom Lorelai (Lauren Graham) is upset with her. But then, she has her own thing going on with Luke.

And then there’s the whole matter of Grandma (Kelly Bishop), who’s leaving Grandpa and jetting off to Paris.

Lots to discuss.
