NIC to dedicate Eisenwinter Field

The North Idaho College athletics department will dedicate the school soccer field in honor of former head coach Bill Eisenwinter between games of a women’s and men’s doubleheader against Walla Walla on Wednesday.

Eisenwinter died in a car accident in 2003 on his way to a soccer tournament in southern Idaho.

The ceremony at 4:45 p.m. will include the unveiling of a portable scoreboard marked “Eisenwinter Field.”

Speakers will include NIC coach Dan Hogan, who had been an Eisenwinter assistant.

• Boys soccer: Cody Steele figured in all the scoring – three goals and an assist – as Lake City (5-1-1) posted a 4-0 non-league win over Bonners Ferry in Coeur d’Alene on Monday. Steele has seven goals this season.
