Salad lunch will be Thursday

The Veradale United Church of Christ will host its popular annual Spring Salad Luncheon on Thursday. The meal, comprising dozens of different salads, will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Several gift baskets will be raffled off during the event. Admission is by donation. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit a family needing help with medical expenses.

New group to gather

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection is launching a new group to serve young adults in the church.

The new group has been dubbed PUFFS, or People Under Fifty, Family and Singles. The group will have its inaugural gathering at a pasta party next Saturday at 5 p.m.

Local author visits church

Hope Lutheran Church, 17909 E. Broadway Ave., will host local author Janae DeWitt at 10 a.m. next Saturday. DeWitt’s book is titled “Break Forth the Dawn.” All are welcome.

Rummage sale

Spokane Valley United Methodist Church will host the final day of the church’s rummage sale today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will help support the church’s Vacation Bible School program.
