We are getting ready to launch a new home and garden section in May, and inside of it you’ll find a question-and-answer column by our garden specialist, Pat Munts.

Now is the time to get your questions in.

Perhaps you have a weird weed growing in your back yard? Or maybe that new, expensive perennial looks like it has a severe case of the doldrums? Or maybe “something” is eating your carrots before you get to them?

Munts is here to help you. She can’t respond to everyone directly, but she’s planning on answering three or four questions in the paper every week.

Simply send us a note describing your problem – if possible, include the full name of the plant you are asking about – via e-mail to features@spokesman.com or by regular mail to The Spokesman-Review, Home, Features Department, P.O. Box 2160, Spokane, WA 99210.

Please mark the envelope “Garden question.”

Photos are welcome, but please don’t send samples of leaves and branches. They tend to be damaged in the mail and are of little value when it comes to answering your question.
