Inland Asphalt Co. wins contract for roadwork on North Crestline

The Spokesman-Review

The Spokane City Council on Monday approved a $1.1 million bid from Inland Asphalt Co., of Spokane, for reconstruction and improvements to Crestline Street from about one block north of Wellesley Avenue to Decatur Avenue.

The improvements are part of a larger plan to widen Crestline Street from Decatur Avenue to Lincoln Road, and to install a new sewer line in the Decatur to Lincoln Road segment.

Construction is being financed in part with state and federal grants. A local improvement district was formed by the council in February to help finance the sewer portion of the project. The city has also purchased several pieces of property along the route.

The bid by Inland was less than 1 percent above an engineering estimate for the paving project. Other bidders included Shamrock Paving Inc., $1.15 million; Half Moon Construction and Leasing Inc., $1.2 million; Eller Corp., $1.22 million; and Spokane Rock Products Inc., $1.26 million.
